Seminar & Conferences Seminar On Understanding the Commodity Market
The seminar on “Understanding the Commodity Market,” conducted in association with the Multi Commodity Exchange of India (MCX) on 24 April 2024, aimed to provide participants with a comprehensive understanding of the commodity markets. Attendees gained insights into the types of commodities traded and the dynamics of these markets, including pricing mechanisms and factors influencing supply and demand. The seminar emphasized the role and function of MCX, the regulatory framework under SEBI, and the significance of risk management and hedging strategies. Additionally, participants were introduced to various trading strategies, the roles of different market participants, and the impact of technological advancements on trading. The session also offered a global perspective by comparing Indian and international markets and included practical applications through real-world examples and case studies.

Seminar On Women’s Contribution in Indian Growth Story-Present Perspectives
The webinar featured two speakers, Dr. Madhureema De Sarkar and Mrs. Indrani, along with faculty and students from the Department. Dr. De Sarkar discussed the historical and contemporary contributions of Indian women. Mrs. Indrani highlighted the significant women’s movements in the last half-century, which have promoted women’s empowerment in India, leading to advancements in education and health. Despite these gains, Mrs. Indrani noted that Indian women still face challenges, including low labor force participation and unequal incomes.

Annual Business Conclave- 17th -18th January 2024
The Department of BBA, in collaboration with the Department of Commerce, organized a Conclave to showcase the potentiality of the students and the business acumen inherent in them. The purpose of this exercise was to provide students with experiential learning in the in the domain accounting, costing and audit.engaging in real-world modules, students gained practical insights into financial analytics, reporting, compliance, and the evaluation of financial records.

Campus on Reels Contest
The competition provided a practical platform for students to apply theoretical knowledge, culminating in an award ceremony that celebrated the best reels and highlighted the value of hands-on learning.

WHALE TANK (Season 3)
The WHALE TANK event, organized by the Department of Management and Commerce in collaboration with E-CELL, is scheduled for 25th and 28th May 2024. The event aims to provide a platform for participants to present innovative business ideas and receive valuable feedback from industry experts. This initiative encourages entrepreneurial thinking and offers students the opportunity to gain practical insights into the business world, fostering an environment of creativity and innovation.

Nabanno Mela-2024:
The Department of Management and Commerce organised Nabanno Mela-2024 to provide students with hands-on entrepreneurial experience. The event featured student-run stalls showcasing handmade products, organic food, and innovative business ideas. Interactive sessions and cultural performances added to the festive spirit.
The mela aimed to enhance students’ skills in innovation, financial management, and marketing. Faculty members and industry experts encouraged participants, making it a valuable learning experience. Nabanno Mela-2024 successfully blended entrepreneurship with cultural heritage, fostering business enthusiasm among students.

Faculty Development Programme (FDP) on “Applications of SPSS on Data Analysis and Visualisation in Social Science Research”
The Department of Commerce and Management successfully organised a five-day Faculty Development Programme (FDP) on “Applications of SPSS on Data Analysis and Visualisation in Social Science Research” from 7th to 11th January 2025. The programme aimed to equip faculty members, research scholars, and academicians with essential skills in SPSS, AMOS, and Artificial Neural Networks (ANN) for data analysis and visualisation in social science research.
A total of 46 participants from 12 different institutes actively participated in the FDP, engaging in comprehensive hands-on training and interactive sessions conducted by esteemed resource persons.

Annual Business Conclave 2025
The Department of Management and Commerce organised the Annual Business Conclave 2025, providing students with insights into emerging business trends and industry dynamics. The event featured expert talks, panel discussions, and interactive sessions with industry leaders, fostering knowledge-sharing and professional networking.
The conclave aimed to bridge academia and industry, enhancing students’ understanding of real-world business challenges. Engaging discussions on innovation, leadership, and market strategies enriched their learning experience. Annual Business Conclave 2025 successfully empowered students with practical knowledge, preparing them for future career opportunities
