Bachelor in Operation Theatre & Anesthesia Technology (BOTAT) -- Lateral 3 Years Diploma in Operation Theatre Technology(OTTA) [2yrs after class 10+2 or 3yrs after class 10th]

The B.Sc in Operation Theatre and Anesthesia Technology course is a basic course of graduation dealing with Ethics, operation theatre preparation work, and managing the pieces of equipment needed during surgery. There should be an operating theatre technician in the operating room and assist physicians and nurses during surgery. They must specialize in all surgical instruments before surgery, clean these necessary devices before surgery, and follow the surgeon’s instructions during surgery.

In this course, students learn patient care before and after surgery. They’re also taught how to help surgeons, anesthesiologists, and nurses maintain sterility in operating rooms by using sterilization and disinfection procedures. The program allows students to study both core and elective areas, making it incredibly flexible and diversified. In addition, the curriculum provides students with the opportunity to apply their knowledge in a practical context through laboratory workshops. All hospitals in India employ Operation Theater Technologists to perform various surgeries such as Plastic Surgery, General Surgery, Gynecological Surgery, Neurosurgery, and Urology. They can learn skills like how to clean surgical instruments, how-to guide an anesthetist, what measures to take for a patient post-surgery, and how to provide moral support to a patient both before and after surgery while taking this course. Some skilled technologists have the opportunity to work in emergency departments and intensive care units (ICUs) at a variety of hospitals and healthcare facilities. They have the opportunity to work with experienced doctors and nurses, learning new things every day.
