Ph.D. in Science and Technology	3-5	A Master’s degree in any branch of Engineering, or relevant science subjects with ≥ 55% marks or minimum ‘B’ grade in the UGC 7-point scale (or an equivalent grade in a point scale wherever grading system is followed) for the unreserved category of students and ≥ 50% marks or equivalent grade for reserved category students.

The Department of Robotics and Automation under the School of Science and Technology is one of the most prospering departments of The Neotia University. The department has well-equipped lab facilities and qualified faculties for research & development. Students of this department have developed many innovative projects. The department has a good number of research publications from the students and faculty members. The experienced faculty members of the department are very helpful to the students and provide the necessary technical support for conducting good-quality research work in the Robotics and Automation course.

The department is supported with project funds from the University and expected to receive many more from the external funding agencies which are the boon for the research scholars to work independently.

CAREER PROSPECTS

Candidates with a Ph.D degree may start their career as Assistant Professor, Scientist etc. in university / colleges / research institutes / CSIR / government and private organisation. Candidates shall get the opportunity to go abroad for pursuing post doctoral work or satisfactory job with high salary. The candidates also have the opportunity to work in the industry. There is a

good scope for the persons having Ph.D degree to start their career as an entrepreneur in robotics and automation sector.

ABOUT THE PROGRAM

A Ph.D. or Doctor of Philosophy degree, is considered as one of the most advanced degrees available at any modern university. The degree involves study on advanced robotics and automation with artificial intelligence, machine learning and IOT, etc. and provide scholars a good knowledge and understanding of the subjects to work on new things and publish the work in the

international journals and conference proceedings.

ADMISSION PROCEDURE

Applications shall be invited through announcements by the university. The interested applicant/s may submit the application for admission in Ph. D program in Agriculture to the Registrar Office of the university. R&D committee of the university shall get in touch with the Controller of Examination Section to conduct the admission entrance test (written mode). In the entrance test,

the 50% questions shall be set from the research methodology and the other 50% questions shall be set from relevant subjects. The qualified candidates shall be called for the personal interview, the candidate may be considered for enrollment in the Ph. D program in science and technology of the university.
