Report
As per the guidelines of UGC, The School of Legal Studies, The Neotia University, organized
the Constitution Day on the 25th and 26th of November 2023, to provide an awareness programme on
constitutional rights and duties to its students. The programme witnessed significant
participation of the students.
Objectives:
• To aware students of the Constitution of India and its history.
• To aware students about the importance of the Constitution of India in our life
• To aware students about several fundamental and constitutional rights provided under
Indian Constitution
• To aware students about fundamental duties provided under the Indian Constitution
• To aware students about the remedy provided under the Indian Constitution in violation of
fundamental rights
• To aware students about the law-making process as provided under the Indian Constitution
Activities:
As part of Observance of the Constitution Day, 2023, the following programmes were organized –
1. Reading of Preamble
2. Poster Making Competition
3. Intra-Department Extempore Moot Court Competition.
▪ Reading of Preamble
As part of the Reading of the Preamble, Dr. Paramita Dhar Chakraborty, Dean (Acting), School of
Legal Studies, The Neotia University, read the preamble of the Constitution with the participants.
▪ Poster Making Competition
• 1st– Deboshree Mondal (1st Semester, BA LLB)
• 2nd – Rumi Khatun (3rd Semester, BBA LLB)
• 3rd– Labani Ghosh (7th Semester, BA LLB)
▪ Intra-Department Extempore Moot Court Competition
• 1st– Ananya Halder (5th Semester, BBA LLB)
• 2nd– Paulomi Sarkar (5th Semester, BA LLB)
• 3rd– Sunidhi Kumari (3rd Semester, BBA LLB)
Conclusion:
The event highlighted the importance of the Constitution in the law-making process in India.
Moreover, the participants were made aware of the fundamental rights and fundamental duties of the citizens. School of Legal Studies, The Neotia University, remains committed to conducting
such programmes in the future and making a positive impact on students.
