Dr. Payel Sadhukhan

Dr. Payel Sadhukhan completed her B.Tech in Electronics and Communication Engineering from Techno India, Salt Lake in 2011. She completed her M.Tech in Computer Science from Indian Statistical Institute in 2013 and obtained her Ph.D in Computer Science (Machine Learning) from the same institute in 2020. After completing her Ph.D., she joined RC Bose Center for Cryptology and Security, ISI Kolkata. She worked there for two and half months before joining TCG CREST, Kolkata as a Post-Doctoral Researcher. She was employed as a visiting faculty at Chandigarh University in April-May 2024. In Fall 2021, she served as a part-time faculty of Computer Science at ISI Kolkata. During her Ph.D. and in her post-Ph.D. days, she has published more than 20 papers in journals and conferences. She was selected as the Visiting Scientific Researcher at Field’s Institute of Mathematics, Toronto in 2015 and also in May 2022. She was awarded a travel grant from Microsoft Research India to attend the International Joint Conference on Neural Networks (IJCNN) 2019. Her work on class imbalance for multi-label datasets was nominated for the Best Paper Award at ICAART 2023 and for the Best Industrial Paper Award at ICAART 2024.
