Dr. Zahid Hussain Wani

Dr. Zahid Hussain Wani has received his Ph.D. in Computer Science from the Department of Computer

Sciences, University of Kashmir, India. He has received his Master’s Degree in Computer Applications

from IUST and his Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Applications from University of Kashmir, INDIA.

Dr. Wani has previously served in the role of Assistant Professor at the Islamic University of Science &

Technology, J & K, since May 2012. With around a decadal teaching and research experience, Dr. Wani

has excelled in conducting independent and collaborative research through journal publications

and research projects. He has a strong publication record of 23 publications in top-tier academic

journals and has also presented his research articles at International Conferences worldwide. He has

secured multiple grants from national research granting agencies such as DST, DIC, etc, and received a

patent last year for one of his projects.

Dr. Wani’s notable achievements include his academic progression as he stood at Rank 1 in teaching

based on student feedback. He was a worthy student, standing third in his postgraduation. His

accolades also include the Best Paper award at an International Conference on Recent Trends and

Advancements in Engineering and Technology at SMVDU Katra, India in 2016, a Travel Award at the

International Conference on Soft Computing for Problem Solving at IIT Roorkee, India in 2015, and

second place in an IT fest at Jnana Prabodhini, Pune, India 2010. Additionally, Dr. Wani is a lifetime

member of the Soft Computing Research Society of India (SCRS).

His research interests include Machine Learning, Generative AI, LLM’s, Image Analysis and Software

Engineering.
