Prof. (Dr.) Asim Kumar Basu

Dr. Asim Kumar Basu is a seasoned Management Professional, Business Leader, and Academician with more than 38 years of rich and diverse work experience with proven track records of high performance in various capacities including that of the Chief Executive Officer (CEO) of a large, renowned listed company.
Dr. Basu started his career with Tata Steel Limited as a Graduate Engineer Trainee (GET) and worked in Tata Group for two and half decades in various capacities and multiple functions as Head of Operations, Head of Corporate Quality and Business Excellence, and Head of Corporate HR.
Dr. Basu also worked in Birla Group for five years as Vice President  Corporate HR and Chief Executive Officer (CEO).
He has more than five years of teaching experience in one of the most reputed Business Schools in Kolkata as an Associate Professor and has about ten research publications to his credit.
He is a Chartered Engineer and a life member of the Institution of Engineers(India), past president of the National Human Resources Development Network (NHRDN) Kolkata Chapter.
He is a certified lead auditor for ISO 9001, ISO 14001, OHSAS18001, Carbon Footprint Assessor, Business Excellence Assessor, and Du Pont Safety Trainer.
He delivered lectures in many management forums across the country.
Dr. Basu has been a National Scholar student throughout his academic career and was the 77th rank holder in the 10th Class Board Examination of West Bengal. He holds an engineering degree from a premier engineering college, double MBAs with specializations in Marketing and Finance, and Human Resources Management, and a doctoral degree in management.
